Plateaus.org respects intellectual-property rights and reviews properly submitted notices concerning material alleged to infringe copyright.
Good-Faith Copyright Reports
If you believe material available on Plateaus.org infringes a copyright that you own or are authorized to enforce, you may submit a written notice using the requirements below. This process is intended for copyright claims, not general disputes about accuracy, attribution preferences, trademarks, privacy, or unfavorable content.
Before sending a notice, consider whether the material is authorized by the copyright owner, licensed, in the public domain, or used under fair use, fair dealing, quotation, criticism, education, or another legal exception. A complainant may be responsible for harm caused by a material misrepresentation.
Required Information in an Infringement Notice
A notice should be in writing and include substantially all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed or, if multiple works on the site are covered, a representative list of those works;
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it, preferably including the exact Plateaus.org URL and a description of the relevant text, image, map, table, or file;
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address so that you can be contacted;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Review and Response
After receiving a sufficiently detailed notice, we may review the identified material, request clarification, remove or disable access to content, replace a disputed asset, preserve relevant records, and notify the person who supplied the material where appropriate. Submission of a notice does not guarantee a particular result.
We may forward the notice, including the complainant’s contact information, to the person who provided the challenged material or to advisers and service providers involved in handling the claim. Personal information is otherwise handled according to the Privacy Policy.
Counter-Notification
If material you supplied was removed or disabled because of a copyright notice and you believe the action resulted from mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification containing substantially the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification;
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate United States Federal District Court as required by 17 U.S.C. Section 512(g), and accepting service of process from the original complainant or that person’s agent.
A valid counter-notification may be forwarded to the original complainant. Where the applicable process permits, material may be restored after the statutory waiting period unless the complainant informs us that a court action has been filed seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.
Repeat Infringement
Where applicable and appropriate to the website’s services, access or submission privileges associated with repeat infringement may be restricted or terminated. We may also act against manifestly abusive, fraudulent, or bad-faith notices and submissions.
Other Intellectual-Property Concerns
Trademark, impersonation, privacy, factual correction, and other non-copyright concerns should be sent through the Contact page with enough information to identify the issue. Copyright ownership and reuse rules for Plateaus.org material are summarized in the Copyright Notice.

This policy provides a communication procedure and does not constitute legal advice. Parties uncertain about their rights, fair use, notice requirements, or potential liability should consult a qualified legal professional.
